Where do the cars come from?

CarHag checks Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and OfferUp around Houston every few minutes. Half of new Facebook cars show up within about 12 minutes of being posted. You contact sellers on the marketplace itself, through the link on each car.

What do the numbers mean?

Market estimate is what similar cars (same make, model, year range and miles) are listed for around you. Est. flip profit is what you'd keep reselling at 95% of that estimate, minus the asking price, before your own costs. Quick sale is a price that sells fast: the cheaper quarter of similar cars. A Check label tells you what to verify before you call, such as few similar cars or unknown mileage. These are automated estimates, not guarantees: always inspect the car and check its title and history.

Why was a car already sold when I called?

Good deals sell within hours. CarHag re-checks Facebook and Craigslist deals and drops the ones that are gone. OfferUp doesn't let us check whether a car sold, so confirm an OfferUp car is still listed before you drive out.

Why don't Craigslist cars show photos or a description?

To respect Craigslist's rules, CarHag shows the title, price and our estimate, and links you to the post for the photos, description and seller.

What's the difference between the plans?

Basic covers up to 25 miles and shows deals 2 hours after CarHag finds them. Pro covers up to 50 miles and shows deals as soon as they're found. Dealer adds 3 logins, a second area and a spreadsheet export. You can switch plans in Billing.

How do I change my area or filters?

Open your name in the top right and choose Area & filters. You can change the distance and filters any time; the center of your area can move once every 30 days.

How do I cancel?

Open your name in the top right, choose Billing, then Cancel plan. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. See Cancellation and refunds for trials, renewals and refunds.

How do referrals work?

Choose Invite a friend to copy your link. When someone signs up with it and pays for their first period, you get one free month as account credit.

How do I get a copy of my data or delete my account?

Email [email protected] from the address on your account and say what you want: a copy, a correction, or deletion. We handle it within 30 days. Cancel your plan in Billing first so you aren't charged again. See the Privacy Policy for what we keep and why.

Do I need a dealer license to flip cars?

Often, yes, once you sell more than a few a year. In Texas you generally need a dealer license (a General Distinguishing Number from the Texas DMV) to sell five or more vehicles of the same type in a calendar year, or to sell a vehicle that isn't owned and registered in your name. Other states have their own rules. This isn't legal advice; check with the Texas DMV or a lawyer.

How do I report a security problem?
